I do like the ice cream that's for sure! There isn't any good ice cream around in that area but if you go there, you'll find the best.

I stopped by here to get some Mitchell's ice cream which they sell here. It's currently $3.99 for one scoop and $5.99 two scoops. The Thai ice cream definitely seemed to be the most popular out of the ice cream flavors currently offered. Service was fast and friendly, I paid in cash and didn't get given a penny back in change but it's not like I could've done much with a penny anyhow. I wish the cup/scoop size was just a bit bigger, but the ice cream itself was creamy and delicious. It did start to melt and drip immediately due to the sunny weather, though.

I've been in the general neighborhood for quite some time, but I had never been to this market deli in the near-decade it's been around. Well, it's not that puzzling. It's on Sixth Street right at Minna, so it's not a stretch I stroll much. More like walk briskly with a whistle. However, I make exceptions for something worthwhile. Montesacro. GAI Chicken Rice. Tu Lan. This might make the cut for one reason. Mitchell's Ice Cream. They have it, and I just found out. The two guys in here also happen to be very friendly to everyone, not an easy feat in this area. I went for the $5 two-scoop cup with Ube and Mango (photo: https://bit.ly/3AxE3QE). One challenge was where to enjoy it since there's no seating. I decided to race walk over to the Parks at 5M. Ah, what a treat. ICE CREAM - 4 stars...Mitchell's was an unexpected treat AMBIANCE - 3 stars...store is well kept but the urban edge of Sixth Street wasn't unexpected SERVICE - 4.5 stars...the right attitude in a tough area TOTAL - 4 stars...get the ice cream...and run RELATED - Exploring Sixth Street? This place was really, really great. The ice cream was local to SF (Mitchell's) and CHEAP. $2 a scoop - where can you still find prices like that these days? The scoops were huge and the texture of the ice cream was perfectly creamy. Flavors were absolutely on point. They rotate them out, so while you never know what you're going to get, you can count on the selection and flavors being delicious. Also, shoutout to the dude at the counter, who had immense kindness and patience helping a seeing-impaired person get some snacks. Love this place, will def be back :,)

After the Warriors game 4 watch party event at the Chase Center, I needed some ice cream! Yes, we beat the Celtics by a hair! Most ice cream or boba shops were already closed or were too far from the Bay Bridge since we were headed back to the East Bay home. Want to hit up Mitchells, but they were closing in 13 minutes and a bit too far for us to drive to. Yelped ice cream, open now and BAM, found ICU market. I've seen this place driving around for work, but never had the opportunity to pay them a visit. The neighborhood is a bit unsavory, but seeing everyone walking out with nice cups of ice cream made me bookmark this spot for the future. Lots of homeless walking around as well as people just enjoying the Warriors win and the cool weather from a high of 85 degrees. No real parking available, so hubby double parked and I ran over to get the ice cream. To my surprise, they sold Mitchells ice cream!!!! SCORE!!! I got the 2 scoop cup. 1 scoop of Thai Tea and 1 scoop of Oreo Cookies. The Oreo wasn't that interesting, maybe I should have went for the mango instead, but the Thai Tea was AMAZING and the guy scooping the ice cream was so nice. Let me tell you, these scoops are BIG and all for $5!!!! I'll definitely be back again!!!

Icu Market "Market" meaning its a connivence store FIRST rather than a spot for dessert. If it's one thing, this place has obviously been essential for locals throughout the years because as you can tell, this part of the neighborhood was faced in a food desert before big chain supermarkets erupted 3-4 blocks over. One thing I hope people understand is that-- the neighborhood you call "sketch" has been this way for years and continues to be harmless to visitors. Common sense, don't have your things out and be smart. Enjoy the nice workers who generously give scoops of ice cream for you to come back while you're in the area again. The workers have always been nice and welcoming as an essential function to our neighborhood.

Everything you need from snacks, household items, and the reason why I even come here their Mitchell's ice cream. During Shelter in Place I Call to ask what flavors they have so they can set aside my favorite flavors Ube and Mango ice cream for me. The staff is polite and friendly and always willing to help you get something from a high shelf. Decent place to do your groceries if you live close by. You can also get a good pastrami sandwich, chicken salad and kebobs here! Open late so if your getting the munchies you can come here! Reminds me of those neighborhood mom and pop stores in NYC with a deli!
